RxList - the Internet Drug Index
A virtual pharmacist on-call 24-hours a day, Neil Sandow's RxList is an easy-to-search database of information about prescription medications. Sandow, a pharmacist himself, has created a useful tool that dispenses electronic versions of patient information inserts that warn about drug interactions, dosage and other pertinent info. RxList's simple search tool lets you type in the name of the pill or potion in question; it then searches its database and cross-references findings by commercial and generic name and drug group. The RxList Database consists primarily of products currently on the US market or close to approval. A new section, the Top 200 Prescriptions was recently added with hypertext links to generic prescribing information. These 200 products represent nearly two thirds of all prescriptions filled in the United States and the majority of searches of the RxList database.
