Joan joined the Library in January 1982 and became the first professional curator for Historical Collections & Services. Joan actively seeks to make Historical Collections materials visible and accessible by encouraging and incorporating new technologies such as digitizing rare holdings and creating Web exhibits. She organizes the annual History of the Health Sciences Lecture Series, promoting a greater understanding of the historical and philosophical foundations of today’s health care disciplines. She holds a dual appointment with the School of Medicine and works closely with the Center for Humanism in Medicine. |
