UVa offers a number of resources to help you learn Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, Access, and Excel. 

Resources

  • Library classes in PowerPoint are free and available to Health System staff, faculty, and students.
  • ITC Instructor Led Courses (fee based) offer classes on Microsoft Office programs.
  • ITC Byte Size Seminars are free 1.5-2 hour hands-on workshops on a tool/tip/trick.
  • ITC Online Video Courses
    ITC provides access to more than 400 online video courses through the Virtual Training Company (VTC).  Visit ITC’s VTC information page
  • SkillSoft Courses from UVa HR
    The University of Virginia’s Office of Learning & Development offers Web-based courses to the University community. Visit the UVa HR SkillSoft website for over 3,000 interactive courses that include Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, Access, and Excel.
  • Safari Tech Books Online offers an eReference Library with over 5,000 titles on software applications for users, programmers, and IT professionals. This subscription is available to UVa faculty, staff, and students.
    • Under the Search menu, select Book Titles.
    • In the [Start a New Search] box, type the keyword of your chosen subject (e.g. Excel), then click Search.
