Introduction
VersaMail on a Palm OS-based PDA may be configured to receive email from the Central Mail Service (CMS). The Health Sciences Library provides these instructions as a courtesy to patrons requesting assistance with PDA wireless setup. It does not imply support from ITC for these services on a PDA.
Step By Step
- Tap VersaMail (or Email) from the Palm Home screen.
- If not prompted to set up an acount, tap the menu icon at the bottom left of the screen, select the Accounts menu, then Account Setup .
- Tap New...
- Name the account (CMS or your computing id, e.g. mst3k, are suggested).
- Select Other as the Mail Service.
- Select IMAP as the Protocol, then tap Next .
- Enter your computing id (e.g. mst3k) as the username.
- Enter the CMS password, then tap Next .
- Email address: computing id@virginia.edu (e.g. mst3k@virginia.edu)
- Incoming mail server: first letter of id.mail.virginia.edu (e.g. m.mail.virginia.edu)
- Outgoing mail server: same as incoming.
- Tap Next, then Done .
