Use the UVa proxy server.
Access to UVa resources such as MEDLINE, full-text journals, and MD Consult is restricted to UVa faculty, staff, and students. To access these resources from outside UVa, you will need to use the UVa proxy server .
There are two things you have to do to use the proxy to connect from home: create a proxy account, and set up your Web browser to use the proxy server.
Please refer to the following charts to see if your browser is proxy-compatible and to get detailed configuration instructions. The sentence above highlighted in blue indicates the browser you are using:

UVaAnywhere is an alternative method to access Library resources from outside the University if proxy does not work for you. UVaAnywhere gives you a UVA IP address, allowing direct access to UVa-only web pages and also services such as Home Directory.
